--a piano (in tune) preferably a grand (Steinway, Yamaha, Bosendorfer, or whatever is available, but something in good shape)
--a standard jazz drum set with 18" bass drum, front head with no hole in it, opaque heads on all drums, snare, 12 - 14" mounted tom, 14 - 16" floor tom, all standard hardware including at least 2 cymbal stands.
--An Upright bass in good condition, preferably something that a professional jazz bassist is using regularly (Recent airline security and economic measures have made travel with a bass very difficult. Most of the time we are using loaned basses in travel situations).
--Bass amp, preferably Polytone, Galeon Kruger, Walter Woods + cabinet.
--3 music stands
For a standard concert/club situation:
--2 mics on the piano with the lid open on full stick (usually, unless you have a way of micing that you really, really prefer)
--1 talk mic, a mic (option) for the bass
--1 mic for the sax
--4 monitors with (ideally) at least 3 mixes
Backstage:
A dressing room to change and/or hang out in. Towels. Water and drinks. Fruit and sandwiches or something of that sort if it is easily available.
For a clinic situation:
Whatever the room requires, but preferably mics on the piano, if nothing else
