EMBASSY MADNESS
The last few days have been a rush of embassy-related misery: work visa-related issues and constant airplane ticket reservation re-workings. When you become a musician you don't think about all the other non-musical jobs you will need to master: diplomat, travel agent, businessman. If you are like me, playing over odd meters is hard enough, let alone all these things that I am completely clueless at. And yet, we manage, however ineptly, paying penalties and eating a ticket when necessary. It's stressful, which is the hardest part, even more than the money issues. I've already written that we aren't in this for the money, although, I do wish that I wasn't receiving daily confirmations of that fact. My not-so-kooky wife says: It can't be helped. shio ga nai. Anyway, still having a good time (mostly).
